I think I know what happened to that muffler. Back fire yes! Likely not from timing, not enough fuel in the exhaust to cause an explosion. With a carb and manual trans, going down the road at highway speed and your motor stalls for ignition problem, takes you a bit to realize your dropping speed, radio turned up! All that fuel is being pumped into the exhaust. I had it happen to me as a teenager in my 74 Gremlin . Pulled over, fixed my coil wire, went to start it up and BANG! I thought a shotgun went off. Got out to figure out what happened. Seen rocks blown away around the tail pipe. Looked underneath , my new muffler was swelled up😂😂😂 That's when I figured it out 😅

I watched you videos on hq mucas again today, I've watched then a few times now and smile comes to my face everytime you Start it up. Sounds fantastic.i had a hj premier 308 turbo400 when I was 18. It had a sound you just gotta love.that big Block you have in the hq sounds awesome.

Hey mate, you probably already know this, but I have a linseeded ute, there’s a product called penetrol flood, it’s at Bunnings. It’s 50/50 linseed oil and fancy chemicals. The sheen lasts way longer than just linseed oil, and your rags don’t catch on fire which is good

My Dad had one of these, '79 HZ 1 tonner with the commercial front, he used it for his plastering business. It was the light brown/cream colour.

Can't believe the difference wheels and dropping the ride height make. I had a mate order a brand new XF I think it was manuel with a carburettor engine. EFI was the big thing and he had a time getting one.

Try running a rag under the window winder. The clip usually gets caught up in the rag.✌️ as u get the rag under hold some pressure up on the clip hold still and wind the handle..

that sheerline is an austin, designed during world war two and sold into the early 50's. it was a super luxury car, like a bentley or rolls of the day. whats cool about cars like that is that literally nobody could afford them, so whoever did was a somebody. like all super luxury cars, they didnt make many of them... i wonder what led to it getting there

The only advise is I hope you don’t kick yourself for not painting the cars when you are sitting in a recliner and the grand kids bring the shanty Because patina fashion and flavour in the world presently come and go

When you get stung by sting nettle you can use the dock leave that is growing there to sooth the sting. The dock is the big green leave on the weed there.

Mick I have a question if that’s okay, where do you get your bits and pieces for the early model Holdens? I have a VS S pack Ute and the wrecking yards are not getting as many of the older cars.

I've had a '68 Valiant Regal sedan since I was 19. I'm 40 now, and it's garaged at my old's. Body needs TLC but mech it's very good and the interior was retrimmed about 15 years ago. Hoping I'll get to it again some day.

I had a '85 xf sedan myself at one stage. 4 speed with factory ac. Had no psteer which was unfortunate. Had lpg too. Wasn't fast but it was super reliable.
